Short answers to the things people ask most. If your question is not here, write to support@voicearc.in.
Getting started
Create a free account, then choose how you want to dictate:
- •On the web — open the demo on the home page and press Alt + V.
- •In Chrome — install the optional extension for supported text fields, connect your account, then check its shortcut assignment. Google Docs uses the desktop app.
- •On your desktop — install the desktop app, connect it from Dashboard → Settings, keep it running in the tray, then press Alt + V in the text field you want to write in.
Alt + V does nothing
Work through these in order:
- •Make sure your cursor is not inside a text box on our own site — the shortcut deliberately stands aside while you are typing.
- •In Chrome, open chrome://extensions/shortcuts and check that Alt + V is actually assigned to Voice Arc. Chrome silently drops the binding if another extension claimed it first.
- •Some Windows applications use Alt + V for their own View menu. If the shortcut is taken, reassign it in the same Chrome settings page, or in the desktop app’s settings.
- •Visit /download for the native app. Installing the website as a web app does not enable system-wide dictation. If you use the desktop app, clear the extension’s shortcut to avoid conflicts.
- •Check the microphone permission. The browser asks once; if you dismissed it, the site cannot hear you.
The desktop app says "Not connected"
Open Dashboard → Settings and press Connect Desktop App. That hands a token straight to the installed app. If your browser blocks the handover, copy the token shown on that page and paste it into the desktop app under Settings → Access token.
Accuracy is poor
Pick the right language in the dictation control before speaking — selecting English while speaking Hindi will produce nonsense. Reduce background noise where you can, and speak at a normal pace; slowing down unnaturally makes recognition worse, not better.
Usage and limits
The free plan covers 5,000 words per month, which resets on the first of each month. Your current usage is shown on the dashboard. Paid plans have no word limit.
Cancelling
Dashboard → Billing → Cancel. You keep paid features until the end of the period you have paid for. See the Refund Policy for refunds.
